Memory Foam or "Visco-Elastic" foam is polyurethane with additional processes which increase viscosity and density.
Higher-density memory foam softens in reaction to body heat, allowing
it to mold to the body in just seconds.
Memory Foam was developed in 1966 by NASA's Ames Research Center
to improve safety in aerospace applications. The temperature-sensitive
memory foam was initially referred to as “slow spring back foam”; Developers later referred to it as "temper foam".
Created by feeding gas into a polymer matrix, the foam has an open-cell
solid structure that matches pressure against it, yet slowly springs
back to its original shape.
NASA released memory foam to the public domain in the early 1980s.
Memory Foam Mattress Toppers provide a comfort layer which reduces pressure points and virtually eliminates disruption caused by partner motion. Memory Foam is hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, dust mite-resistant.
Memory Foam Mattress Toppers come in a variety of styles, thicknesses and densities to best suite your specific comfort needs. They are available in King, California King, Queen, Full, Twin and Twin XL. In addition to home use, they have skyrocketed in popularity among RV, boat and camping enthusiasts.
